PRDesi CEO Hosts Consul General of India for Strategic 2.5-Day Visit

PRDesi Cultural and Education Organization (PRDesi CEO) was proud to welcome Shri Ramesh Babu Lakshmanan, Consul General of India in Atlanta, during his first official visit to Puerto Rico. In collaboration with the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce and other institutional partners, PRDesi CEO organized a series of high-level engagements that strengthened connections between Puerto Rico and the South Asian American community on the island.

Over the course of two and a half packed days, the visit included official meetings with the Governor of Puerto Rico, the Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC), the U.S. Department of Commerce, and key business leaders. These discussions reflected growing opportunities for collaboration in trade, investment, entrepreneurship, and cultural exchange.

Beyond formal meetings, the visit also served as a meaningful cultural introduction to the island. In partnership with Discover Puerto Rico, the Consul General experienced El Yunque National Forest and participated in a walking tour of Old San Juan, gaining firsthand insight into Puerto Rico’s history, natural beauty, and vibrant heritage.

The visit concluded with a well-attended PRDesi Donor Circle and Leadership Dinner at Hacienda Angelina. The evening brought together Puerto Rican business leaders alongside South Asian American and Indian American community leaders in a setting that fostered strategic dialogue, new partnerships, and shared vision.

This milestone visit reflects the growing presence and impact of the South Asian American community in Puerto Rico and highlights PRDesi CEO’s continued leadership in building bridges between Puerto Rico and India.

We are pleased to share a video of the Leadership Dinner and photographs capturing moments from the Consul General’s visit across Puerto Rico.
