PRDesi Cultural & Educational Foundation

The PRDesi Cultural & Educational Foundation celebrates and integrates the vibrant South Asian Desi community in Puerto Rico. Desi communities—those with roots in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh—are playing an increasingly impactful role in Puerto Rican society, contributing to its economy, culture, and social fabric. Our community comprises both long-time North American residents and newcomers from South Asia who bring fresh ideas, investments, and job opportunities to the island.

Connecting Cultures, Building Community

What we do

We are committed to promoting cultural understanding and collaboration between the South Asian and Puerto Rican communities. Our activities focus on:

  • Cultural Integration: Showcasing South Asian films, music, history, and art to deepen connections across communities.

  • Educational Initiatives: Hosting conferences, presentations, and workshops to share knowledge and create awareness of our rich heritage.

  • Community Partnerships: Working closely with Puerto Rican nonprofits, government agencies, and community groups to tackle shared social challenges and promote local initiatives.
