india’s Consul General’s First Visit to Puerto Rico

PRDesi CEO Hosts Consul General of India for Strategic 2.5-Day Visit

PRDesi Cultural and Education Organization (PRDesi CEO) was proud to welcome Shri Ramesh Babu Lakshmanan, Consul General of India in Atlanta, during his first official visit to Puerto Rico. In collaboration with the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce and other institutional partners, PRDesi CEO organized a series of high-level engagements that strengthened connections between Puerto Rico and the South Asian American community on the island.

Over the course of two and a half packed days, the visit included official meetings with the Governor of Puerto Rico, the Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC), the U.S. Department of Commerce, and key business leaders. India Pakistan match 2026

India vs Pakistan — Cricket Sunday at Flight Park

What a morning! The India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup clash gave us all the cricket fans exactly what we wanted — big hits, fast bowling, and a super competitive crowd.

Here’s how it went down:

🇮🇳 India posted 175/7 in their 20 overs, powered by a blazing 77 from Ishan Kishan off just 40 balls — the kind of innings that keeps everyone standing. 

🇵🇰 Pakistan fought hard, with Usman Khan top-scoring with 44, but couldn’t quite keep up on the scoreboard.

Border 2 What a wonderful group! It was a hard movie to watch but such an important one for historical reasons. So happy it came to PR.

Sholay: The final cut

A full house-fans reciting legendary dialogues and others watching this iconic film for the very first time 50 years after its release.

And somehow it still hit the same -the story, the acting, the character, we were all hooked. Jai, Veeru, Thakur and of course Gabbar Singh are going to stay with us for the next 50 years too.

What an audience: shawls, chai, mithai, and that shared excitement.

Guests enjoyed a live broadcast of the NBA Finals, followed by a high-energy celebration with great food, drinks, and community vibes. It was a night of sports, fun, and Desi pride—all in one unforgettable evening.

We released 50 films in Puerto Rico to bring the community together and invite Puerto Ricans to experience our culture, customs, and traditions through Bollywood cinema. Partnering with Caribbean Cinema amplifies our films’ relevance, giving PRDesis greater exposure in the mainstream.

PRDesi Seva Event

Monthly Seva Event: In collaboration with Happy Givers, we came together to farm, cook, and prepare nutritious meals for the elderly in Puerto Rico.

After touring the facilities and witnessing the inspiring work of Happy Givers, we concluded the day with a farm-to-table lunch alongside the team.

Cricket Match Watch Party

Held at The Wheel in San Juan, our watch party was a huge success, bringing together die-hard fans and newcomers to enjoy the biggest match of the year. With the game hosted in NY for the first time, it created global buzz, and we were thrilled to celebrate it with the community here in Puerto Rico!
